H.E assumed the role of Trade and Industry Minister in December 2019; with banking experience spanning more than thirty years. Ms. Gamea is one of the leaders of the investment, finance and retail banking sectors. She headed the Central Sector for Financing Small Projects and was chosen to be the first Secretary-General of the Social Fund for Development from within the foundation. She was also appointed as the first CEO of the Egyptian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (“MSMEDA”). She participated in drafting the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Law.

Ms. Gamea was chosen for Egypt in the Forbes list of the most influential leaders of the government and also several times as one of the most influential female figures with impact on the Egyptian and Arab economy.
